We were very pleased that so many people enjoyed the event as much as we did and appreciate all of the comments and suggestions. If you want to see the survey results, click on the links on the right side of this page.

The committee agrees that three years is a good interval, so we will plan to do it again in 2012, in either August or September, depending on venue availability. Chuck Cvetich passed away on August 20, 2009. A celebration of his life will be held at the Olde School (John Gumm) on Saturday, August 29th at 1:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.

It's time to rock around the clock!

This should be a great night. A party for getting reacquainted after many decades. There are many names of people on the RSVP list that I haven't seen for 40+ years. Please come and share your memories of the 1960's with all of your friends from that decade. All that graduated during the 60's are invited, including teachers and staff.

The cost is only $25 a person, which includes a buffet, music, dancing (if any of us can still dance) and the cost of decorations etc. That's less than a dinner at an inexpensive restaurant! We are all looking forward to a great evening, with hundreds of former St. Helens classmates and high school teachers and staff members getting reacquainted. Looking forward to seeing you all. Come join the fun!

The idea of a second 60’s reunion began at a gathering after a fellow classmate’s funeral this last spring in St. Helens. Someone said, “It seems like the only time we see each other anymore is at someone’s funeral!” Then it was suggested that maybe we should have another all 60s Reunion soon, and that the one in 2000 was great. About 10 of us headed to the PastTime Tavern to talk about getting something started.

So here we are with about 4 weeks to go and we have around 200 classmates and guests signed up from 1960 to 1969 St. Helens Alumni. If you missed the first reunion back in the year 2000, or if you haven’t sign up yet, just think about the days ahead, when you are sitting in your rocking chair at a nursing home remembering the night of September 12th, 2009. This will be a memorable event! Hopefully by then, there will be a pill that works on dementia.

Remember the last day to sign-up is August 31st . We have to give the Elk’s Club two weeks notice on the number of folks coming to the event for food, beverage, tables, and chairs, etc.

A Memorial Service was held at the Columbia Funeral Home (503 397-1154) in St. Helens, Oregon on Saturday, July 18, 2009.
